Keeping learners safe
Effective 2026-10-21. These notices apply to learners, teachers and administrators.
A safe science classroom
Teachers must use respectful, educational communication. No secrecy requests, sexual content, bullying, requests for money outside academy checkout or invitations to private off-platform meetings with minors. Guardians should know how a child learns and how one-to-one sessions are arranged.

Teachers need a recorded academy review separate from ordinary account activation. Adult and conduct declarations, qualifications and relevant reference checks are reviewed by an administrator. A review badge is an academy decision, not a government certification or guarantee against misconduct.
Learner contact access has no age declaration or guardian-permission prerequisite. Teacher clearance is checked by the server for private messaging and one-to-one scheduling. Normal account and booking rules apply.
Special rules for one-to-one tutors
After account activation, teachers can request tutoring privileges from My availability, Tutor requests or My profile. A dismissible prompt also offers this request. Teachers must explicitly accept the rules below; accepting them alone does not grant tutoring privileges. An administrator separately reviews the request, contact clearance and teaching subjects before new tutoring times and packages are available.
Rules version: 2026-10-21-v1.
- Use academy-approved channels for tutoring, messages and scheduling. Keep communication professional, respectful and appropriate to the learner's age.
- Never engage in sexual or romantic conduct, sexual comments, grooming, bullying, harassment or discrimination with a learner.
- Do not request secret conversations, personal social-media connections or off-platform private contact. Never ask a learner to hide communication from the academy or their guardian.
- Do not request external payments, make private recordings or share learner images, recordings, contact details or other private information outside the academy's authorized process.
- Report safeguarding concerns or inappropriate contact to the academy promptly. Do not promise secrecy when a learner's safety may be at risk.
- Use the academy's scheduling and supervision arrangements, including guardian involvement where applicable. Respect session boundaries and the learner's privacy.
- Stop a session or unsafe contact and notify the academy if safety is in doubt. Follow academy restrictions or suspension while a concern is reviewed.
The academy records the accepted version, acceptance time and review decision. Teachers can read saved decisions in Tutoring decisions. A formal suspension pauses new one-to-one reservations, joining and teacher completion without deleting paid credits or ordinary learning records. Only a later administrator grant lifts that suspension; submitting another request or marking a notice as read does not.
A suspension cannot disconnect an already connected call or revoke an external meeting link that was copied earlier. For an ongoing safety concern, an administrator must also use End classroom and, where necessary, revoke the external link with its provider. Contact the academy for paid-credit reassignment or support.
Supervision and reporting
Private academy conversations may be reviewed by authorised administrators for a recorded purpose. Each such access is audited. Report a message or tutoring concern using the report controls, or contact Nambozzo Aisha directly. Report content is not automatically shared with the reported teacher or learner.
Do not contact an alleged offender yourself or share a child’s report widely. Keep only necessary evidence. The safeguarding lead reviews concerns and escalates to appropriate authorities when needed. This application is not monitored as an emergency hotline.
Family support and privacy
Families can contact the safeguarding lead about learning support or concerns. Guardian contact is not a prerequisite for a learner account. Previously recorded guardian information is private historical information; contact the data-protection lead about access, correction or deletion. Retention holds for a safety case are limited to necessary records and reviewed.
Read the privacy notice for access, correction and deletion requests.
